Susan has camped, trekked and skied throughout the Sierra Nevada Mountains, canoed 90 miles down the Colorado River (twice), and sailed to Southern California's Catalina and Santa Cruz Islands many times. Her almost four-year sojourn around the world began in Europe and ended in Southeast Asia, with longer stops in the Balearic Islands, Australia and Indonesia. Her appetite for adventure is satisfied with more recent travels throughout the Northwest and Southwest U.S., off and on the beaten path.

A 25-year background in the publications industry as a researcher, editor, proof reader and transcriptionist honed the skills necessary for Susan’s factually correct, informative articles. Her educational background includes writing, journalism, literature and English courses at Eastern Washington University and the University of California at Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Her feature travel articles have received top awards from Writer’s Digest in its national writing competitions.
