Rent a yurt for a unique camping experience in the Pacific Northwest. Yurts are available throughout Washington, from the coast and islands to inland areas.

Camping in a yurt offers adventure travel lodging with comfort, convenience and affordability. Easier than car camping or RV travel and lodging, yurt rentals allow travelers to stay in the outdoors with many of the comforts of home. Washington State has yurt rentals from rustic to more luxurious, in coastal and inland settings.

Benefits of Yurt Camping

There’s no need to pack up a tent and all the camping accouterments or pay for all that gas to haul an RV to a campsite. Yurt rentals provide the fun of camping, comfortability and are budget friendly.

These circular, lightweight structures provide protection from the elements with accommodations for up to 6 people. The yurt’s windows allow light and air to come in. Wooden floors and supports provide structure. Electricity, a locking door, beds with mattresses and basic kitchens are some of the features of rental yurts.

Yurts on the Washington Coast

Washington State Parks offer yurt camping on the scenic coast. Cape Disappointment on the Long Beach Peninsula, Grayland Beach (just north of Cape Disappointment) and Paradise Point (with a freshwater shoreline) have yurt rentals.

Snohomish County Parks has yurt rentals at Port Susan in Puget Sound just north of Seattle. Near Anacortes, Guemes Island Resort features yurt rentals, also in Puget Sound. On picturesque Orcas Island, Doe Bay Resort in Olga offers yurt rentals.

Western Washington Inland Yurt Camping

Washington State Parks have yurt rentals at Kanaskat-Palmer in the Green River Gorge and at Seaquest near Mount Saint Helens. North of Seattle, Snohomish County Parks offers yurt rentals at River Meadows Park on the shores of the Stillaguamish River.

Private campgrounds and resorts in inland Western Washington offer a variety of yurt rentals. On Lake Whatcom near Bellingham and Sedro Woolley, Wildwood Resort has yurt rentals. Near Mount Vernon in the Skagit River Valley, Thousand River Trails offers yurts for rent. Skamokawa Vista Park on the Columbia River west of Longview also has yurt rentals.

Yurts in Eastern Washington and Backcountry Yurts

On Banks Lake near Electric City, Coulee Playland Resort has yurt rentals. The resort is in proximity to Grand Coulee Dam.

Backcountry ski accommodations in yurts are available near Woodinville with Cascade Power Cats. Mount Tahoma Trails Association has a backcountry hut systems with yurt rentals near Mount Rainier and Ashford.

Yurt rentals offer adventure travel accommodations that are affordable, comfortable and convenient. Staying in a yurt allows travelers to pack lighter, since yurts have many of the conveniences of home. Yurts are also more stable and spacious than tents. Aesthetically appealing and well-lit, yurts are an easy alternative to tent or RV camping.

Oregon and Idaho also offer more Northwest yurt camping.

Great to see an article on yurts! We would like to add that there is now also another eastern Washington yurt lodging alternative: the luxury yurts at Chiwana Village; part of the SageCliffe/Cave B resort. We are adjacent to the Gorge Amphitheater, in Quincy, WA.
